Lifetime memories of my Auntie Margie.

Created by Victor 2 years ago
From my first days when you pushed my pram around Rookery cottage to your last moments when I held your hand and kissed you goodbye, it was a privilege to be your godson Auntie Margie. From our treasured family gatherings in Nan and Grandads cottage in Bedingfield Street in the 1950s where we would sit by the roaring fire under the oil lamps and eat fish and chips on a Monday. You would walk with me to the local pump to collect water in a pail. The motor racing years, where we would meet up with you in Suffolk and Essex each weekend to see Scrambling and grass track racing. You m ade many friends, Dave Bickers, Jack Hubbard, John Banks, John Pease, Alf Hagon and many more. When you moved to East Bergholt to work in the local school you took up caravanning, static in Felixstowe where you would enjoy Bingo during the week,  and mobile, travelling England, Wales and Scotland. On school days, Uncle Lee would get up early and fish at Flatford mill before work. You were involved with the Church and on Monday mornings took tea with Lady Anne and friends inher home. When you retired you spent many Sundays with your nephews and Weiliang and I went for drives with you to Bedingfield, Dedham, Manningtree, Copdock garden centre and Stratford St Mary to take care of a country house you looked after. When Lee was unable to walk in later years we took him in his buggy around the village, and for trips out with his wheelchair. After Lee passed on you spent many happy times with your many friends and your nephews, out for drives in the countryside, lunch in the Bergholt restaurant and simply sitting in your bungalow garden. I have only scratched the surface of your long life Auntie, but you leave us with incredible memories, we will never forget you. Love you always, Victor, Weiliang and your family.
